Looking Back
As the air starts to chill, it elicits a sweet memory of the first styled shoot as Matchless Gem.
(Check out Cake and Lace for the feature!)
Thinking back to last fall, moody colors and natural elements were especially inspiring. Soft purples, fresh and gold gilded figs, greenery and bold blooms were the details to help bring this vision to life. All that was left was finding a quaint, picturesque venue (oh, and actually executing these plans that looked so fabulous in my mind).
The drive to Heartland Estate was lined with beautiful, old trees filled with so much character that I just knew I was going to fall in love with the historic farm house tucked behind them. This was the perfect setting for the moody bohemian wedding inspiration as the ivy-covered, brick walls, tree lined property and magical stone patio were an ideal backdrop.
The cake was adorned with the most beautiful sugar details (insert heart eyes). Yes, those leaves- all sugar. Impressed? Me too! Little Vintage Baking Co. knocked it out of the park.
Speaking of leaves, the details on the invitation suite- perfection! Those hand lettered masterpieces by Jillian Kaye Art were the perfect way to set the mood for the shoot. Not to mention the beautiful calligraphy on those leather place cards. Swoon!
Working with Emily (from Heartland) was a delight. She is so kind and so, so easy to work with. From the very first glimpse of the charming venue to the champagne toast, everything was a dream.
The team of vendors brought their best, and we produced a beautiful shoot showcasing so many talented people. Thank you team; Lydia and I hope to work with you again!
